Books!

Jen loves to read. Infact, she would rather read a book than watch a television.. Here is a list of books that I think are must reads! Please leave a comment with any book sugestions as well!

1) The Outlander series, by Diana Gaboldon
-I LOVED this series. It's about a women who "falls" back in time. At first I was sceptical since I am not one for science fiction but this is more a historical fiction with a science fiction tiwst. It is written very well and the Claire (the main character)interacts with the characters from the past is very realistic. Could you imagine the confusion if you woke up in a different time period? Claire was a modern day doctor and I love the medicine in the book. Makes you realize how much medicine has changed.

2) The Bronze horseman series, by Paulina Simon
- Another series that I could not put down, and one of my favs of
all time. I am a sucker for historical fiction, expectially ones
written about world war I & II. This series is about Tatayna and her family who live in Russia during WWII.

3) The Help, by Katheryn Stockett
- I just recently finished this book, and I couldn't put it down. It is about a small town in Missisipi in the 60s, when white and black people were segregated. This type of book was not first on my list to read, but I am definitely glad I picked it up from the library.

4) Fall of Giants, by Ken Follett
- Like I mentioned I am a sucker for historical fiction about WWI and WWII. This is the first book of what will be a series spanning a century. It follows 4 familes; one in Germany, one in England, one in Russia, and one in the US. I found it very cool how you got the perspectives of all four countries. I also really enjoyed World Without End and Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett as well.

5)Harry Potter, by JK Rowling
- Obviously! actually, the first Harry Potter I hold near to my
heart. I read if when it had first come out, a couple of years
before it was famous. I HATED to read, and my desperate mother bought me Harry Potter and the philosophers stone, and my world changed.
